A retired contractor in Boise told me to stop fighting with my hawk
He saw me struggling on a remodel and said, 'Kid, you're holding it like a dinner plate, not a tool.' Has anyone else had a simple grip tip change their whole mudding speed?

My uncle was a drywall guy for forty years and he had this weird thing about pencil lines. He'd say if you can still see the blue after the first coat, you're pressing way too hard. Changed how I feather edges completely. What's the strangest piece of advice you've gotten from an old timer?
