Bought a $400 drywall lift for a single big ceiling job...
Had to do a 20 foot by 15 foot living room ceiling by myself last month. Rented a lift before and it was fine, but figured buying one would pay off. Used it for that one job and now it's just taking up a huge amount of space in my garage. It worked great, but I'm starting to think the rental fee would have been smarter. Anyone else have a tool they bought for one specific thing that just sits now?

My tile saw is the same story.

What's going on with your saw? Mine keeps getting water everywhere and the blade wobbles like crazy.

Did you actually check what a rental goes for now? Around here it's $80 a day plus delivery and pickup charges. One decent weekend job and you're probably halfway to owning one. Just saying, if you ever do another ceiling or even help a friend with one, it's already paid for. Plus you don't have to worry about the rental place being out of stock or having a beat up unit that leaves oil stains on your floor.
