I finally got my mud consistency perfect after a job in Tacoma last month.

The foreman there told me to mix it 'like melted ice cream' and now my seams are way smoother. Anyone got a different phrase they use to get it right?

Heard someone say it should be like thick peanut butter.

Thick peanut butter sounds like a clogged nozzle waiting to happen. A smooth, pourable consistency is way more reliable for getting a clean bead. That heavy paste just makes the work harder.
