I just finished my 500th sheet of drywall this year and the number hit me

I was cleaning up after a big basement job in Cincinnati and counted up my receipts from the supply house. I've hung 500 sheets since January. It's not just the number, it's the weight of it all, you know? That's over 15 tons of board I've lifted, cut, and screwed up. I remember my first year, maybe doing 150 total and being wrecked. Now it's just a normal Tuesday. It made me think about how much my body has changed to handle it and how my speed has doubled. I don't even think about it most days, just get the job done. But seeing that exact count on paper was a real moment. Has anyone else had a number like that stop them in their tracks?

500 sheets is insane. That's like carrying a full size pickup truck worth of drywall up and down stairs all year. My back hurts just thinking about it. You must have forearms like concrete posts now. The body really does adapt to that kind of grind, but seeing the total number makes it real.

Tell you what, my shoulders ache reading that. Carrying that much material changes your body for sure. You get used to the weight but the total adds up. Respect for putting in that kind of work. Takes a real toll after a while.
