Just noticed a lot of new guys skip the back blocking on long ceilings
Saw a crew in a new build last week, they were hanging a 16 foot sheet on a cathedral ceiling with no support. They just used a lift and called it good. That's gonna sag in a year, maybe less. We always used a 1x3 cleat across the joists before the drywall went up. Anyone still doing that, or is it a lost art?

Exactly, like @seanc62 said. Everyone cuts corners now.

Guess who learned that the hard way too?

Used to think a lift was enough for those long spans. Saw a job come back with a nasty sag after only eight months. Now I'm a firm believer in that blocking, it's cheap insurance.
