My old boss in Phoenix swore by 6-inch knives for everything, but I switched to a 12-inch.

I used to tape and coat with just a 6-inch knife for years, thinking it was fine for most seams. After a big ceiling job where my lines kept showing, a guy on site told me to try a 12-inch for the second coat. I bought a Marshalltown 12-inch and it made smoothing those long joints so much easier, with way less sanding. Anyone else have a tool switch that made a big difference for them?

Oh man, that's the truth. I was the same way, stuck on a 6-inch for way too long. Swapping to a bigger knife for those long seams is a total game changer, it just flattens everything out so much better. Makes the finish coat way faster and you're not fighting ridges all day. That Marshalltown is a solid pick too.

Wait you used a 6-inch for long seams? That's insane.
