Watched a new guy in Spokane cut a sheet with the paper side down last week

He was using a standard utility knife and it left a ragged edge on the face paper. I showed him to always cut with the paper side up, so the blade scores the face cleanly. Anyone else run into this on a crew?

Disagree completely, I've seen it backfire more times than it helps. @rosejackson maybe you just got lucky, but in my experience the overkill approach just wastes time and energy for minimal payoff.
