Can we talk about that one trick where you add a dash of vinegar to hard-boiled egg water?

I tried it after a coworker swore it makes the shells slide right off, and after 3 dozen eggs over the past two months I can confirm it actually works, no more picking at stubborn bits while making potato salad for the school potluck.

Vinegar and a pinch of salt did the trick for me, shells came off way smoother.

Whoa, that's wild! I've always just given up and peeled them under running water, but I might have to give the vinegar trick a shot next time I'm making deviled eggs.
