The town council email chain that turned into a 3 day roast battle

Last week someone on our local Nextdoor group posted the town council's internal email chain about a new parking lot. They accidentally CC'd the whole public list instead of just themselves. For three days straight, residents replied with increasingly funny fake proposals. One guy suggested we paint the lot like a Monopoly board and charge rent. Another person submitted a 12 page PDF about using glow in the dark turtles to mark spaces. Has anyone else seen a simple government goof spiral into an internet comedy goldmine like that?

The glow in the dark turtles idea alone beats anything @ryan_stone ever brought up at a meeting.

Did you try counting how many people on the thread seemed to have professional-level graphic design skills just sitting in their home office? I once saw a city email about fixing park benches turn into a full-on medieval reenactment proposal (complete with hand-drawn heraldry) because someone's bored cousin who does wedding invites had too much time on their hands. The best part was watching the original council member slowly realize they had accidentally created the most engagement the local government website had ever seen.

Heraldry for park benches. Peak internet.
