Noticed the food court at Valley View Mall has been completely dark for 3 months straight

Walked by last Tuesday and all 8 stalls still have their menus up but the grease traps are totally dry, so I'm guessing they pulled the plug on the whole thing when the last anchor store left back in November.

Man that's a bummer. Valley View has been on life support for a while now but losing the whole food court feels like the final nail. It's weird walking past those empty stalls with the menus still hanging there, like a ghost town. Mall food courts used to be the place to hang out back in the day. Makes you wonder what's gonna happen to that whole space now.

Pop-up shops and weekend flea markets have been working around here for some of those empty spots. A buddy of mine rents a stall on Saturdays for his vintage stuff and does alright. That whole wing might end up as event space or something, at least until they figure out what to do with the building.
