My drywall finisher told me to stop sanding so much
Dude said I was just making more work and creating a dust cloud for no reason. I switched to a damp sponge for the final pass and holy crap it's way smoother and takes half the time. Anyone else tried this instead of sanding?

Holy crap, a damp sponge? That almost sounds too good to be true. Tbh I've spent hours covered in dust like an idiot, this might save my lungs and my sanity.

Right, but how long does a damp sponge actually last before it gets nasty? I've tried the damp rag trick before and it works great for like the first five minutes, then it's just a wet dirt brick you're smearing around. You basically have to rinse it out every few swipes or you're back to kicking up clouds. Still beats the hell out of holding my breath and waving a broom around like a maniac though.

Funny how the simple stuff is what actually works. We overcomplicate everything these days when a dollar sponge does the job.
