Serious question, I always thought you had to replace a whole window frame if the seal failed

My own house in Mill Woods had a foggy pane for years, and I just dealt with it because a full replacement quote was over $2000. Then a guy on my crew mentioned you can just swap the glass unit itself, which cost me $400 at All Weather Windows. Has anyone else done this repair instead of a full frame job?

Yeah, the "swap the glass unit itself" thing is a game changer. My neighbor went the full frame route a few years back because some salesman convinced him it was the only way. He was so mad when he found out later he could have just fixed the sealed unit. Felt bad for the guy, he overpaid by thousands. Makes you wonder how many people get talked into that when they don't need it.

Absolutely, I did the same thing last year and saved a ton of money.
