Thinking of going with spray foam insulation vs traditional batts in my 1950s bungalow
I keep hearing people say spray foam is the only way to go for an old Edmonton home, but a contractor told me it can trap moisture and rot out the framing if not done right. My place has that old knob and tube wiring too, so I'm worried about future access. Anyone here had issues with spray foam in a post-war house?

Only way to go" - my buddy did spray foam and his rafters started sweating like crazy.

Jesus, yeah. My buddy Louie did the closed cell foam in his garage attic three years ago. First summer, he walked in and there was condensation dripping off every single rafter nail like a sweat lodge in there. He ended up having to cut channels in the foam every 4 feet to let it breathe, plus he had to put in a power vent anyway.
