Finally got my journeyman's license after three years of night school
I started the program back in 2021, going to classes two nights a week after work. It was tough, especially last winter when I was running calls all day in the cold and then trying to focus on code book stuff. The final exam was last Thursday at the community college downtown, and I just got the letter today. I passed. My hands are still rough from pulling wire in a crawlspace yesterday, but holding that paper felt good. It’s a small step, but it means I can finally pull permits on my own jobs now. Anyone else remember that weird mix of relief and being totally wiped out when they got theirs?

That permit stamp changes the whole math on side jobs. You can quote the full job now, not just labor. The relief is from finally seeing a clear path to making real money.

Hey @the_joel, didn't I read that some places are making it easier to get those stamps online now? Honestly seems like a game changer for side work.
