The real horror is finding a junction box from 1972 wrapped in old cloth tape. You pull one wire and the whole nest starts crumbling into dust. It's not just dirt down there, it's decades of forgotten DIY choices coming back to haunt you. Every splice tells a story, and most of them are code violations.
