Showerthought: I was wiring a new build in Phoenix and the inspector passed a box with 4 neutrals under one screw.
That's a code violation waiting to happen, so I called him on it and he just shrugged and said 'it's fine if it's tight', which is exactly why we have so many callbacks for mystery voltage drops.

Man, my buddy's whole kitchen went dark from a sloppy splice like that.

Its fine if its tight" - that splice probably held fine for years til something else went wrong. Most of these blow up because people overcomplicate it. A tight splice beats a loose one every time.

Phoenix inspectors must get their licenses from a cereal box. "It's fine if it's tight" is how you get a free house fire.
