Smoke from a garage on my street taught me about EV charger risks

A neighbor messed up his own charger install and it sparked a fire. This reminded me why we always follow code for high-amperage setups. Our whole block was buzzing about it for days.

That "follow code" part is so easy to skip until stuff goes wrong.

Used to breeze past those steps myself. Then a project blew up because of a missed semicolon, of all things. Now I treat every line like it's out to get me. That kind of pain is a great teacher. Code compliance stopped feeling optional after that.
