Just saw the difference a capacitor swap made on an old receiver

Picked up a Pioneer SX-780 at a flea market in Denver for $40 last Saturday. Got it home and the left channel was weak with a hum. Recapped the power supply board with some Nichicon caps from Mouser, took about 2 hours, and now it sounds clean as a whistle. Anyone else notice how much life these old units have after a basic recap?

Noticed the same thing with my dad's old Kenwood from the 70s. Those caps just dry out over time and everything else is usually fine. Its like the electrical version of a bad connection in your brain where you forget something simple until you clear it up. Makes you wonder how many other things in life just need a little refresh instead of being thrown away.

Swapped out the caps on my old Pioneer receiver last year and it sounded better than ever, did you just do yours yet?
