Our community center recently opened a weekly electronics fix-up workshop
I dropped by and saw how they use thermal cameras to find hot components. Super helpful for beginners like me.

Ever think thermal cams could be used for regular check-ups, not just when stuff breaks? Spotting a part getting too hot early might save the whole circuit board from dying later. That changes the workshop from a repair shop to a place that keeps gear running longer.

Thermal cams should be standard for gear check-ups. Finding a hot part early stops bigger breaks later. @david_harris has the right idea, moving from repair to care.

Wow! My friend was trying to fix his old stereo that kept cutting out. He got his hands on a thermal camera and pointed it at the circuit board. One specific capacitor was glowing bright orange on the screen while everything else was cool. He replaced that single part and the stereo worked perfectly. Said it turned a total headache into a five minute fix.
