Vent: A customer argued their tablet was bricked after a drop, but the volume button was just stuck.
Honestly, they were ready to buy a new one until I showed them the button was jammed with pocket lint. Tbh, it took two minutes to clean out and reboot, but they acted like I performed magic. Ngl, it's weird how often simple physical issues get mistaken for total failures, and it wastes everyone's time.

You're so right about simple physical issues being mistaken for total failures. It happens all the time with my kids' gadgets, where a quick clean fixes everything. It really does waste so much time for everyone involved.

Totally agree with you @faithb74, though sometimes it's not just cleaning. My nephew's tablet wouldn't charge and we all thought it was broken, but it was just a tiny piece of lint packed into the charging port. A toothpick fixed it in two seconds. It's crazy how often the fix is just looking at the actual physical thing.

Spot the same thing with so much stuff now, not just tech. People are quick to assume something is totally broken instead of checking the simple, obvious stuff first. It's like we're trained to think everything is a complex software issue or needs a full replacement. I see it with appliances, car troubles, even squeaky doors. The simplest fix gets overlooked because we expect the problem to be huge. Makes you wonder why our first instinct isn't to just look at the physical thing right in front of us.
