Had a controller board fry on a MRL elevator in a 12 story building in Chicago last Wednesday - do you replace the whole board or try to fix the individual components?

The smoke came out right during morning rush with 3 cars on dispatch, so I pulled the main disconnect and swapped in a spare I had in the truck, but now I'm staring at the damaged board wondering if it's worth my time to trace the short or just toss it and order a new one.

Last time I tried fixing a fried board, spent 3 hours and it still ran hot. New board showed up next day and I was back in business.

Nah. New board is cheaper than your time chasing ghosts.
