I bought a cheap knockoff governor tester and it cost me a whole day
Got it online for about $150, thinking I'd save some cash. Hooked it up to a governor on a 10-story office job downtown, and the readings were all over the place. I spent 8 hours re-checking my work before I realized the tester itself was junk. Anyone have a brand they trust for this kind of gear?

Learned that lesson the hard way too. My shop only buys Fluke gear now.

Yeah, that's a rough way to spend a day... @wesley873 has the right idea with Fluke. After my own bad tester, I switched to a Fluke 789 process meter for governor work. It just reads steady every time, no more guessing.
