Just finished my 500th car door alignment
It was on an old Otis 311 in a downtown office building. The super had been complaining about the noise for months, but the rollers were just shot. Took me two hours with the laser and a new set of guides. Feels good to hit that number, you know? What's a job you've done a ton of that still feels good to get right?

Hitting a number like that does feel good. I've done so many brake jobs I lost count years ago, but there's still a quiet win when you test drive it and the pedal is just right. It's the simple, repeatable fixes that keep the day moving. What was the toughest part of learning door alignments?

Honestly, 500 doors is a wild number to keep track of. I get the satisfaction, but after the first hundred, doesn't it just become another part of the day? I've painted so many walls I couldn't even guess, and the feeling just kind of fades.
