Swapped to a digital level after 8 years with a bubble one on a job in St. Louis

I used the same old torpedo level for years on elevator rail installs, but last week I finally tried a digital level on a 12-stop job downtown. The difference was night and day - my rail alignment was spot on the first time without having to re-level three times like usual. Has anyone else made that switch and found it worth the money for the precision?

I made the switch about two years ago on a similar job and it paid for itself inside a month. That first day I set up a digital level on a long rail section and had perfect alignment without any back-and-forth guessing. The old bubble level always had me second-guessing whether the bubble was dead center or just close enough. With the digital readout I could see the exact angle and lock it down fast. Your mileage may vary depending on the brand you pick, but for me the time saved on re-checks made it a no-brainer.

It's funny how once you get used to better precision in one tool, you start noticing it everywhere else too.
