Warning: that $80 digital inclinometer was a total waste for me

Bought it to check guide rail plumb on a high rise job, but it kept losing calibration in the machine room heat. My old plumb bob and a steady hand got it done in half the time. Anyone have a tool they actually trust for this that won't break the bank?

Can't believe you spent eighty bucks on something a string and weight can beat.

You ever actually try one of these things? I used to think the same way, like it was just a fancy plumb bob. But having a real level that shows the exact angle on a screen is a total game changer for setting up long runs. A string and weight can't give you that kind of precise reading, and it's way faster. For the kind of work I do now, that speed and accuracy is worth every penny. Totally changed my mind once I used it.
