Dropped $300 on a high-frequency wand and it's just sitting in my drawer
Bought this thing six months ago after a vendor at a trade show convinced me it would fix all my clients' cystic acne. Used it maybe three times. Those little neon wands are way too finicky to actually use in a busy booth. Anyone else have a tool they thought would be a miracle worker but ended up being a paperweight?

Oh, I read somewhere that using a little witch hazel first can help the wand work better on tough spots. Sounds like that might be the missing piece for you too.

Hold on, I gotta push back a little here. I actually love my high-frequency wand and use it almost every day on clients with active breakouts. The trick is you can't just wave it around, you have to hold it in one spot and let the gas do its work for like 30 seconds per area. I found that if you prep the skin with a thin layer of aloe or a non-comedogenic gel, the wand glides way smoother and actually kills bacteria without the zapping feeling. Maybe you got a dud or didn't get the right technique down because mine has seriously cut down on the need for extractions in my routine. Have you tried it on inflamed cysts specifically or just normal pimples?
