Hot towel on a broken capillary - worst idea I ever had

I'm at my station in Seattle about 3 months ago and this client comes in with really reactive skin. She wants a hydrating facial. I grab my hot towel to do the steam step and she immediately gets this broken capillary on her cheek. Looked like a tiny red lightning bolt. I felt so bad. I told her straight up I messed up and gave her a discount on the service. She was cool about it but I learned my lesson - always check for broken caps before using heat. Anyone else had a similar oops with heat?

Oh man, that Really sucks and I feel for you. It's one of those mistakes that just sticks with you because you know better but it still happens anyway. At least you were honest with her and made it right, that's all any of us can do.

Ahh I mean you're close but I think you got one thing backwards. Being honest with her is the bare minimum, not something special. Like yeah it's good that he told the truth but that's what you're SUPPOSED to do. The real hard part is actually making it right, which means doing the uncomfortable work of listening to her feelings and changing your behavior going forward. A lot of people say they're honest but then just expect a pat on the back for it and don't actually fix the problem. So while I agree he did the right thing by coming clean, let's not act like honesty alone is some heroic act when it's really just the starting point.
