Spent 45 minutes tracking down a red glow on a client's face after a VI peel yesterday
Turns out it was just the reflection from her bright pink water bottle sitting on my cart, has anyone else had a stupid lighting issue trick them like that?

Got a friend who does facials and she spent a solid 10 minutes trying to wipe a supposed bruise off a client's cheek before realizing it was just the red reflection from the exit sign above her mirror. She even tried different lighting angles and swapped out her cleanser thinking it was a reaction. Client just sat there staring at her like she was losing her mind. Finally she turned around and caught the glow hitting her own hand. Felt real dumb but at least they both laughed about it.

The exit sign trick got me once too, but with a blue LED instead of red. I was doing a dermaplane on a lady and kept seeing this weird blueish tint on her cheek that wouldn't rub off. I checked my blade, checked my lighting, even wiped down my magnifying lamp thinking it was dirty. Finally I turned off the overhead light and the blue glow just vanished. It was coming from the power strip on the floor under my cart that had a little blue indicator light. I felt like a total amateur for about five minutes until I realized it's just one of those things you have to learn the hard way. Now I walk around my room before every appointment and look for anything that could throw a weird color onto skin.
