Vent: Watched a new esthetician double-dip a spatula into a pot of cream at a workshop yesterday

I sat there cringing as she went back in for more product with the same spatula, and nobody said a thing, has anyone else dealt with people not understanding basic cross-contamination in a professional setting?

Watched a bakery owner scoop out butter with his bare hand once. Grabbed a handful, plopped it on the pastry, then went back for more with the same unwashed hand. Whole table just stared. Nobody said a word. I still think about that croissant sometimes.

Yikes. That's the kind of thing that sticks with you forever, isn't it? I mean, butter is just asking for bacteria once a hand has been in it. I probably would have just sat there too, not knowing what to say. That croissant is ruined now, forever tainted in your memory.

Did you ever try to defend double-dipping before seeing it in person? I used to think people were just being dramatic about cross-contamination until I watched someone reuse a dirty brush on a client's face. Now I get it completely.
