I finally pieced together why my bus is always late on Tuesdays
I've been taking the same bus for months, and every Tuesday it's at least ten minutes late. I used to believe it was just bad luck, but then I started paying attention. I noticed that on Tuesdays, there's a street sweeper that blocks the usual route. The bus has to take a detour, adding extra time. It's strange how such a small thing can mess up my whole schedule. Now I leave earlier on Tuesdays, and it helps a lot. It's just one of those everyday oddities you don't think about until it clicks.

Tuesday street sweeper detours are a nightmare.

Not so sure @wren_martin70, the sweeper might be annoying but it beats having dirty streets. Could be we just notice the delay more on Tuesdays.

Patterns can be tricky though. My old bus route had a Tuesday delay everyone blamed on garbage trucks, but the schedule data showed it was actually extra traffic from the early shift change at the factory. The street sweeper might be part of it, but there could be another clog in the detour route itself. Sometimes we fixate on the first answer we find.
