My friend swore by a trick for finding lost keys that sounded like nonsense

He told me to stand in the middle of the room, stop looking, and just ask out loud where they were. I was sure it was silly, but after searching my apartment in Chicago for 45 minutes, I gave up and tried it. I said 'Okay, where are my car keys?' and immediately looked at the fridge. They were on top of it, behind a cereal box. I have no idea why that worked. Has anyone else had a weird mental trick actually pan out like that?

Oh totally! I do that all the time, just asking the empty room somehow shakes the answer loose.
