My neighbor told me my lawn mowing pattern was 'bad Feng Shui' and it stuck with me
Last summer, my neighbor Bob came over while I was mowing and said I was doing it all wrong. He said going back and forth in straight lines creates 'negative energy lines' and I should mow in a spiral pattern instead. I laughed it off at first, but then I actually tried it the next weekend. Turns out mowing in a spiral takes way less time because you don't have to do those awkward turns at the end of each row. Now I do it every Saturday morning and my yard looks better too. Has anyone else gotten a weird tip from a neighbor that actually worked better than the normal way?

Started doing spiral cuts after my neighbor showed me the same trick and honestly it changed my whole lawn game. The key is to start in the center and work your way out, but you gotta keep the lines TIGHT or else the grass gets patchy in between. I also found that going counterclockwise works better for some reason, less strain on my mower when turning the handle. Plus your neighbors will think you're some kind of lawn wizard which is a nice bonus. Just make sure you overlap each pass by a few inches so you don't leave those little strips of uncut grass. Bob might've been a little weird about the whole energy lines thing but the man knew his mowing patterns.
