Overheard a neighbor's rant about his missing socks that made me rethink laundry day
I was taking out my trash yesterday and heard Mr. Henderson from apartment 3B yelling at his dryer. He said, 'It ate another one! That's three this month, all just left socks.' I always figured socks just got lost in the wash, but he was convinced his machine had a 'hungry spot' behind the drum. I checked my own dryer with a flashlight and found a single, dusty sock wedged up in the back corner I never knew was there.
