Ew, that's unsettling. The wax probably cools and cracks in a weird pattern that just happens to look like faces sometimes. Our brains are wired to see faces everywhere, so it seems creepier than it is.

@sage_fox is right about our brains seeing faces everywhere. I once had a water stain on my ceiling that looked like a screaming man for months. It's just our brain playing tricks, but it still freaked me out every time I looked up.
