PSA: That 'ghost' in your attic is probably just a squirrel
Everyone in my building swore the third floor was haunted after years of midnight footsteps, but I found a huge nest and chewed wiring up there last month. Has anyone else solved a spooky noise that turned out to be totally normal?

Oh man, that is such a relief to figure out! We had a similar thing with weird scratching in our walls that kept us up for weeks. Turned out to be a family of raccoons that had gotten into the crawl space. The peace of mind after finding the real cause is amazing.

That peace of mind is no joke @dakotaellis. I bet you felt like a total detective when you cracked the case of the hot water heater ghost. My buddy had a similar thing where his 'haunted' closet door that kept opening was just the house settling and a bad latch. Guess we're all just living in houses that are gaslighting us on purpose. At least raccoons don't judge your life choices while you sleep.
