Vent: Bought a $20 'smart' outlet for my coffee maker

It was supposed to let me schedule it, but now it just turns on randomly at night. I hear the gurgle from the kitchen and it's honestly a bit creepy. Anyone else have a gadget that started acting haunted?

A few years back I bought a "smart" crockpot and it started preheating at 3am on its own. I woke up to the smell of cooking onions and almost called the cops. Now I just unplug everything before bed, even my toaster, because I dont trust any of that stuff.

Just picture me running out of the room without looking back, like in a cartoon. My heart would be beating so loud you could hear it across the street. I'd probably just live outside for a week to be safe, honestly. That kind of thing sticks with you forever, no thank you.
