Warning: Decaf coffee made my hands shake more than regular
I cut caffeine to calm down, but now I get shakes in the afternoon. My friend says it could be withdrawal or a mind trick.

Last Tuesday at the library, I switched to decaf hoping to feel less jumpy... but by 3 PM my hands were shaking worse than when I drink regular coffee. I dropped my phone twice trying to text my friend about it. It felt like my body was mad at me for cutting caffeine, like some weird flip side. Now I'm back to half-caff just to avoid those afternoon shakes. Your post totally hits home for me.

Maybe it's not the decaf itself but something else in the blend or even withdrawal hitting at a weird time, @paigem85. Your body might just be missing its usual hit all at once now. Tapering off slower with a mix could help more than a straight swap.

The 3 PM timing is wild, @thompson.emery. My afternoon shakes hit like clockwork too when I tried decaf, and I dropped my keys in a puddle once. The body knows the old routine, and especially if you were used to a big mug of regular at 2 PM. That sudden hand tremor felt like muscle memory gone wrong. Switching to half-caff was my same fix, and it stops the jittery flip side cold.
