Warning: my neighbor's cat now thinks my car is its personal bed

Last Thursday morning in Portland, I went outside to find a big orange cat fast asleep on the warm hood of my car. I shooed him off, but he was back the next day, and the day after that. Now he's there every morning like it's his job, just staring at me through the window. Has anyone else had an animal claim their property like this?

My buddy's truck got claimed by a raccoon that would just GLARE at him from the wheel well every single night.

Oh man, that cat is definitely your new alarm clock whether you like it or not. I had a similar thing happen with a possum that decided the crawlspace under my porch was its personal Airbnb. I mean, every single night for about two weeks, I'd come home and see it waddle out from under there like it owned the place, just staring at me with those beady little eyes before disappearing back in. Ended up having to block off the whole thing with chicken wire just to get my porch back.

That "staring at me through the window" part is too real. I always thought cats were just aloof and did their own thing, but this kind of stuff proves they're actually tiny, fuzzy bosses who just take what they want. My sister's cat did the same thing with her patio chair, and now nobody else is allowed to sit there. You just have to accept you're sharing your car now.
