Just dug up a demo tape from a fake 90s shoegaze band I made up in high school

Was cleaning out my parent's basement in Phoenix last weekend and found an old cassette labeled "Blind Mellotron" with like 4 songs on it. Me and my buddy recorded it in his garage back in 97 and we totally invented this whole backstory about how the band broke up after a fight over a stolen reverb pedal. It's hilarious how seriously we took it. Has anyone else stumbled across old fake band stuff they forgot about?

Nah, I gotta disagree a little here @tyler368. That stuff isn't just funny to me, it's kind of cool in a weird way because it shows how creative we were before we got all self conscious about everything. It's easy to laugh at it now but back then we were fully committed to making something dumb feel important and that takes guts.

Found a burned CD-R from 2002 labeled "Glitch Mafia - Underground Mix" that was just me and my friend making weird noises with a Casio keyboard and a crappy delay pedal. We had this whole fake lore about the band getting signed to a European label but the master tapes got destroyed in a flood. Still gets a laugh every time I find it.
