I was grilling burgers last Saturday and my neighbor Dave came over to borrow propane. I swear he looked exactly like Tom Hanks in the movie Big, same face shape and that goofy smile. I snapped a quick pic on my phone and showed my wife, but she just rolled her eyes and said I was crazy. Then I posted it in our local Facebook group and only 3 people agreed with me, everyone else said maybe 10% resemblance at best. What do you do when you see a perfect lookalike but nobody else seems to match it? Anyone else have a similar letdown where the community just didn't see what you saw?
My buddy swore he saw a perfect Keanu doppelganger in the cereal aisle but by the time I got there the guy was gone and we spent the whole afternoon hunting through every aisle. Is it worth chasing these lookalikes or do you just count the blurry pic as a win?
I've been working with this guy Steve for about 8 months now at the warehouse in Tulsa. Never really thought much about it until last Tuesday when he was standing under the fluorescent lights squinting at a shipping label. Something about the way his jawline caught the light and those half-closed eyes just clicked. I pulled up a pic of Jeff Goldblum from Jurassic Park on my phone and held it next to Steve's face. Three other guys walked by and all stopped to stare. One of them said 'holy crap he really does look like him' without me even explaining. Now every time Steve talks to me I keep expecting him to say something about chaos theory or fly away in a helicopter. Has anyone else had a lookalike moment just randomly hit you out of nowhere like that?
After she showed me a photo of him in Top Gun I actually went and bought mirrored aviators, and nobody at the BBQ last Saturday even made the connection, has anyone else had a lookalike claim that totally flopped?
I paid $40 to enter some online lookalike contest thinking I'd at least get exposure. Turns out the 'judges' were just bots and the winner was picked by number of paid votes. Anyone else get burned by one of these scam contests?
I saw this guy at the grocery store last Saturday and did a double take. He had that same lanky walk and squinty look, even mumbled something about the produce like Goldblum would.
Saw her doing dishes with the same side-swept hair and squinty grin and had to pull up a side-by-side on my phone. Has anyone else had a random everyday moment where someone's twin just appeared out of nowhere?
I was checking out at the Piggly Wiggly in my town last Tuesday and the guy bagging my groceries looked exactly like Tom Hanks from Big. Same smile and everything. I almost asked him if he could do that dance on the giant piano but held back. My girlfriend saw him too and swore it was his doppelganger. Has anyone else spotted a random Tom Hanks lookalike in the wild? It was uncanny and I should have snapped a pic.
I was filling up at a QuikTrip last Tuesday and some guy behind me said 'hey, you're that actor, right? Mark something?' I just laughed it off. But then he pulled up a picture on his phone and yeah, same hair, same face shape, same tired eyes. I went home and looked through old photos of Ruffalo from around 2004 and it was genuinely weird. Now I'm curious how many people have had this happen and actually looked up the comparison. Has anyone else had a stranger nail your doppelganger like that?
Seriously, I was in line at the Harris Teeter on Main Street yesterday and this guy walks in with the same hair and beard. Everyone around me is whispering 'Keanu' but I swear his face shape and eyes are pure Ace Ventura era Jim Carrey. I snapped a quick pic but the lighting was bad. Anyone else see these mix-ups all the time or is it just me?
I was grabbing lunch at this diner off I-44 and the waiter looked so much like a young Brad Pitt that I did a double take. He had the same jawline and that squinty smile, it was uncanny. I snapped a pic and showed my buddy, and he swore it was him too. Has anyone else bumped into their celebrity twin in the wild like that?
I was grabbing breakfast at this truck stop outside Toledo last Wednesday, just trying to get some eggs before my next haul. This older guy sits down at the counter next to me and I swear he could have been Tom Hanks from the Big era, same smile and everything. We got to talking and he had no idea who Tom Hanks was, said people told him that for 20 years. He was a retired farmer from Indiana just passing through on his way to see his daughter in Pennsylvania. I snapped a quick pic of him eating his pancakes, and when I showed my buddy back at the yard he thought I photoshopped it. Has anyone else run into a lookalike in the wild like that where the person themselves didn't even believe it?
I was standing in line at Publix and the cashier literally stopped to stare at my mom's license photo. She said she looked exactly like a young Meryl Streep from the 80s. I've never seen it before but now I can't unsee it. Has anyone else had a random stranger point out a celebrity twin in their family?
I was at this coffee spot on SE Division and saw this guy who was a dead ringer for Ryan Gosling in Drive. My first few pics came out blurry because of the weird overhead lights. Then I angled my phone to catch the window light hitting his face just right, and it totally popped the resemblance. Has anyone else messed with natural light to make their lookalike shots actually work?
I used to just say 'they look like someone' and move on but now I actually snap a pic for this subreddit. Yesterday I spotted a total Knives Out Daniel Craig at the deli counter in Kroger on Elm Street and my buddy finally admitted it after three tries. Anyone else get better at spotting lookalikes since joining here?
I was grabbing a rotisserie chicken after my shift last Tuesday and this guy stocking the dairy aisle had the exact same face and hair from the 90s. I double took so hard I almost dropped my chicken. Has anyone else spotted a dead ringer in the most random places?
I stared so long I dropped a jar of pickles and now I can't stop wondering if other people have spotted a celebrity twin in a totally random place like a DMV or a laundromat?
Saw this dude benching yesterday, built exactly like Tom Hardy in Bronson. Even had the same scowl. Anyone else notice random lookalikes at their regular spots and can't unsee it?
