Heard a vet in Lexington say we should check for navicular changes before every trim
I was at a clinic in Kentucky last month and the vet, Dr. Miller, said she sees a lot of horses where early navicular signs get missed until they're lame. She told us to feel for that deep digital flexor tendon tension and check the heel bulbs for warmth each time, not just when the horse seems off. It made me think about how I could add that 30 second check to my routine. Do you guys have a quick method you use to spot problems early?

Man, that's smart. It's like checking your car's tire pressure instead of waiting for a blowout on the highway. We skip the small, regular checks because they seem like a hassle, but that's always what comes back to bite us later.

Yeah but @king.river, you should check more than just the tire pressure.
