PSA: I had to choose between a new Mustad anvil and fixing my old truck's transmission after a rough week in Spokane.

I picked the anvil because my boss said 'a farrier without a good anvil is just a guy with a hammer', and honestly, it's made shaping shoes way faster, but has anyone else had to make a call like that where your gear won out over your ride?

I mean, I read a piece once about how tradespeople see their main tools as an extension of their actual ability to earn. So your call makes total sense, idk, the truck can usually limp along a bit longer.

Wait, you were in Spokane and still went with the anvil? Man, I've driven through there, those hills are no joke with a bad transmission. I get the tool logic, but that's a serious gamble on your truck not giving up on a steep incline.
