This old-timer at the county fair told me my clinch was 'too proud' and now I can't unsee it on every shoe I set.

He grabbed a rasp, showed me how to dress it down flush in about 30 seconds, and now I'm re-evaluating my whole finishing process, anyone have a go-to clinch block they swear by?

Grab a piece of scrap sole bend and shape your own block. Lets you get the exact curve you need for different irons. What kind of heels are you working on mostly?

Grab a block of scrap sole bend and shape it yourself, best thing I ever did for my clinching. @grace565, I used to overthink my blocks until an old timer showed me the same trick with a rasp, and it totally changed how clean my shoes look underneath. Once you get the curve dialed in for your irons, you'll wonder why you ever bought those pre-made blocks.
