Took me 8 months to figure out why my hind shoes kept twisting

Kept having this problem where my hind shoes would shift laterally after about 3 weeks. Drove me nuts. Tried different nails, different clips, nothing worked. Finally I watched a guy at a clinic in Lexington and realized I was leaving too much heel on the shoe. Trimmed it back a quarter inch and boom, no more twisting. Has anyone else dealt with something that simple making that big a difference?

Man, I feel you. I had the exact same headache with my mare last year and it took me forever to figure out. I was convinced it was a foot balance issue or something fancy, so I kept messing with my trimming and it just got worse. Then my old farrier buddy watched me shoe her one day and just said, "You got too much shoe back there." I cut it back maybe a half inch and it was like magic. It's crazy how something that small can mess up everything for months.

Same thing happened to me, backed the toe off a bit and she was good to go.
