Tried a new rasp versus my old one on a tough quarter crack job

I was working on a big draft horse with a nasty quarter crack last Tuesday. I used my usual rasp for the first half of the trim, then switched to a new Heller 14" rasp a buddy lent me for the other side. The difference was huge. The Heller cut through the hard wall way faster and left a smoother finish. I probably saved 15 minutes of filing time on that one foot alone. It just didn't load up with hoof dust like my old one does. Has anyone else found a specific rasp that really changed their speed on tough feet?

Know that feeling when a new tool just clicks.

What specific part of the tool made it finally click for you, or was it more about the workflow it replaced?

Saved 15 minutes" seems like a stretch for just a rasp swap.
