I finally tried adding a hidden pocket to a linen dress and it completely changed the drape.
I sewed a small, flat pocket into the side seam of a simple shift dress, and now the fabric hangs in a weird, stiff ripple right at the hip, which honestly looks kind of cool and structured.

Remember reading about how even a tiny bit of extra fabric or structure can totally change how something hangs. It's like how a single tuck in a curtain can make the whole thing ripple differently. Your pocket basically became a tiny bit of interfacing right there at the hip, forcing the linen to move around it. That stiff ripple sounds way more interesting than a plain shift dress. Kind of makes me want to mess up a project on purpose.

It's like the fabric's memory got a glitch, and I'm here for it.
