I was sketching a dress for a friend's wedding in Portland and kept hitting a wall
For three weeks I kept trying to make this super fitted lace gown, but the sketches just looked stiff. Then I saw a photo of my friend from last summer, just laughing in a flowy sundress at the coast, and it hit me. I was designing a dress for the event, not for her. Has anyone else had a client's old photo totally change your design direction?
