My niece asked why all her pants have fake pockets
She's 9 and we were looking at her school clothes, and she pointed at the sewn-shut pockets on her jeans and said 'What's the point if I can't put my rocks in them?'. It made me realize how much design ignores actual use, especially for kids. Do any designers here actively fight for functional pockets in women's and children's clothing?

Ask Tyler how clean those lines stay when a nine year old has to carry her rocks in her hands because her pants lied to her. Does the fashion industry think kids don't need to pick up cool sticks or store a handful of candy? It seems like a weird choice to teach kids their clothes are for looking at, not for doing things in. Where's the logic in making workable pockets for boys but treating them like a forbidden luxury for girls and women?
