Rant: I was at a gallery opening in Seattle and saw a dress made from old fire hose.

The designer used the stiff, ribbed texture as the whole structure, no boning needed. Now I'm looking at all kinds of industrial materials differently. Anyone tried working with something weird like that?

That's actually a super cool idea. Makes me wanna go poke around a hardware store for materials now.

Start with a tape measure in one hand and a vision in the other, that's how every good hardware run begins lol. Just don't end up like me buying a welding mask but zero clue how to actually use it, that's a classic move. Half the fun is figuring out which random bolts and brackets might make something cool, even if it ends up looking like a junk sculpture at first.

My cousin welded a whole chair from old bike chains, kind of like what @jackson.sage is thinking.
