Serious question, has anyone else had a design idea sparked by a museum trip?
I was at the Art Institute of Chicago last month and saw a 15th-century tapestry that completely changed how I think about texture in modern jackets. Has anyone else found inspiration in an unexpected place like that?

The Museum of Modern Art in New York had this old, beat-up industrial fan in a design exhibit. The way the light hit the rusted metal grill gave me a whole new idea for a distressed finish on a guitar pedal enclosure. It's wild where a good idea can come from.

Last year I saw a cracked sidewalk with moss growing through it and it made me rethink how I arrange plants in my garden. It happens all the time, you just see some random texture or color combo out in the world and it clicks. My brain files it away for later. I bet most creative work is just stealing ideas from places that have nothing to do with the final product. The trick is remembering to look up from your own work long enough to notice.

Stumbled into an abandoned greenhouse once and the cracked glass patterns totally reshaped how I tile my bathroom floors.
